Title: PM2 Educational Specification for Jupiter Elementary Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the Educational Specification for Jupiter Elementary and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.
Description:
- The addition to Jupiter Elementary School is in accordance with the new Board adopted FY 2005 - FY 2009 Five Year Plan.
- The Educational Specification for Jupiter Elementary is consistent with the Class Size Reduction (CSR) Facility Lists and generic Educational Specification.
- The Educational Specification reflects the Class Size Reduction instructional needs. The Educational Specification consists of six (6) new instructional classrooms.
- The Educational Specification also reflects the instructional needs of the ESE and ESOL programs serving the students of the school. The Educational Specification consist of the twelve (12) new instructional spaces according to the District's Charter Waiver.
- The existing facilities would be analyzed by the project architect to determine appropriate usage of the buildings, necessary renovations and remodeling to meet SREF size standards, ADA requirements and other code issues.
- The gross square feet in the Educational Specification for the addition to Jupiter Elementary is 17,387. The old, two story building at Jupiter Elementary has 18,767 under roof which includes a 3,360 square foot auditorium.
- The Educational Specification was reviewed and approved by the Principal.
Financial Impact:
Financial impact will be determined when construction contract is negotiated.
