Title: PM6 Project Modifications for Park Vista Community High

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $480,657.00 for Park Vista Community High School (91-EEE), Construction Management at Risk Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Park Vista Community High School (91-EEE) Interlocal Agreement - Project #2001-8105

This project modification contains the following item:

• CCD #2 in the amount of $476,284.00.
• Description:  Provide all necessary labor, material, bonds and insurance necessary to install fencing modifications, batting cages, field lighting, field public address system, team dugout modifications, grassing specifications change, score board and sprinkler system revisions.
• Cause:  Outside Agency-Palm Beach County Parks Department.
• Justification:  An agreement between PBC and SDPBC for joint use of the baseball field existed in concept prior to the construction of the school.  An allowance that recognized that some scope of work would be done was included in the GMP for the school. This work was authorized after the GMP was accepted.  However, documentation and quantification of construction scope and cost was not initiated until the construction began.    In addition, some work at the sports complex was done for PBC under the school contract for the convenience of PBC.  This item ratifies the full cost of the baseball field work scope and work scope to be billed to PBC.  We are currently in discussion with the PBC regarding reimbursement.

Financial Impact:

The source of funds is the Capital Contingency.
