Title: CP3-CM at Risk Agreement for Wellington HS Auditorium

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the award of an Agreement for Construction Management at Risk Services and Pre-Construction Phase fees in the amount of $40,300. to The Weitz Co., Inc. for Wellington High School Auditorium, Project No. 2191-8272 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents.

Description:

Construction Management at Risk Preconstruction Phase Services required for design review and recommendation to establish the Guaranteed Maximum Price for construction of a 835 seat auditorium of approximately 21,155 GSF and related site facilities in accordance with the educational specifications approved by the Board on February 20, 2002.

Approved Construction Budget: $7,970,000

Construction Type: TBD during the Pre-Construction Phase

No. of Stories: Two stories

Gross Square Feet: 21,155

Budgeted Construction Cost/Gross Square Foot: $377.

Seats: 835

Eleven (11) firms responded to the RFP of which three (3) firms were shortlisted.  The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows:

1.   The Weitz Company

2.   Kaufman Lynn Incorporated General Contractors

3.   Heery International, Inc.

Minority Participation: 15%

Financial Impact:
The financial impact is $40,300. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget.
