Title: T-2 Consider Transfer of Surplus Bus to Charter School

Recommendation:

I reccommend that the School Board authorize the Superintendent to transfer one 65 passenger school bus to Montessori Academy of Early Enrichment, Inc. Charter School.

Description:

• Florida Statute 274.06 allows disposal of surplus property in a manner consistent with the best interest of the District.
• Pursuant to Florida's Charter Schools law, all surplus property shall be provided for use by a charter school on the same basis as is made available to other public schools in the District.
• The Montessori Acacemy of Early Enrichment, Inc. will be transporting Palm Beach County District students to and from school.
• Prior to the execution of this donation, Montessori Academy of Early Enrichment, Inc. will be required to sign a vehicle donation agreement.  Appropriate liens will be filed with the State of Florida.
• Property records of the transferred vehicles will be retired to the inactive file.
• Written request for surplus bus is attached.

Financial Impact:
Donation of one surplus bus that would sell for approximately $6,000.
