Title: PM1 Project Modifications for Bear Lakes Middle

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications for the addition of seventy-three (73) consecutive calendar days for Bear Lakes Middle School, Class Size Reduction Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

 

Bear Lakes Middle School – Class Size Reduction Project #1981-8950 

 

§         COPR #1 (Item #1) for the addition of fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days.

o      Description: This item represents time associated with delays affecting the onsite installation work force, due to hurricane Wilma.

o      Cause: Unforeseen Conditions.

o      Justification: Work force impact due to the effect of the hurricane on the project.

 

§         COPR #1 (Item #2) for the addition of seven (7) consecutive calendar days.

o      Description:  This item represents time associated with delays caused by Florida Power and Light not bringing power to the site until November 10, 2005.

o      Cause: Unforeseen Condition.

o      Justification: Power needed to maintain schedule.

 

§         COPR #1 (Item #3) for the addition of thirty-five (35) consecutive calendar days.

o      Description:  Supplier of precast concrete planks delayed the delivery of the planks due to Hurricane Wilma’s affect on him and his supplier’s facilities which also delayed installation of same.

o      Cause: Unforeseen Condition.

o      Justification: Concrete hollow core planks needed to remain on schedule.

  

§         COPR #1 (Item #4) for the addition of fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days.

o      Description:  This item represents additional time associated with the addition of cabling and ceiling mounted projectors.

o      Cause: School District Requested.

o      Justification: This item was added as a District standard after the completion of documents.

 

§         COPR #1 (Item #5) for the addition of three (3) consecutive calendar days.

o      Description:  This item represents additional time associated with the addition of conductor neutrals to several electrical panels.

o      Cause: Design Omission.

o      Justification:  Conductor neutrals are required but are not included in the GMP documents.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $0.00.
