Title: RE1 South Area Middle School of Choice

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the Real Estate Sale and Purchase Contact for acquisition of a vacant lot of approximately 0.45 acres, more or less, located on Barton Road, Lake Worth, which property is adjacent to the South Area Middle School of Choice campus, as herein described; and authorize the Superintendent and Chairman to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

 

  • The subject 0.45-acre parcel represents an opportunity purchase as the owner is marketing it for sale.

 

  • The subject property will provide additional land for expansion or other potential future needs with respect to the South Area Middle School of Choice campus and/or the Barton Elementary School campus (see Parcel Map Exhibit “A”).

 

  • The contract price for the property is $190,000.00. The appraised value of the property is $200,000.

 

  • A Phase I Environmental Audit has been ordered on the site to confirm that there are no environmental concerns on this property.

 

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Capital Projects Funds Budget is $190,000.
