Title: AC7-Amendment to an existing agreement with Palm Publishing, LLC.

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Amendment to the existing  Agreement with Palm Publishing, LLC, a subsidiary of Palm Healthcare, Inc., effective September 21, 2006 through June 30, 2007, and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents related to the agreement which are required for implementation.

Description:

This is an Amendment to the Agreement between Palm Publishing, LLC, a subsidiary of Palm Healthcare, Inc., and the School District of Palm Beach County, entered into on April 22, 2004 through June 30, 2007, to fund an Administrator for Health Occupation Programs.

The Amendment modifies Section II of the Agreement as follows:

The School Board Agrees as follows:

To pay all mileage and travel expenses that are associated with the Administrator of Health Occupations' job responsibilities when working as an agent of the School District in order to enhance and advance the development of Medical Skills and Health Occupations programs.

Palm Publishing, LLC pays all salary and benefits of this Administrator as she serves as a full-time employee for the School District, coordinating educational activities and programs that benefit the teachers, students, and medical profession employers.

 All other terms and conditions as set forth in the original Agreement, shall remain in full force and effect.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Special Revenue-Other Fund is a decrease of approximately $3,000 from the Carl D. Perkins Grant funds. These funds will be allocated to the Department of Choice Programs and School Choice budget.  All grant related expenditures and contracts are authorized for payment up to the amount of revenue.
