Title: PM8 Project Modifications for Limestone Creek Elementary Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $69,106.00 for Limestone Creek Elementary School, Classroom Addition Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.
Description:
Limestone Creek Elementary School – Classroom Addition Project #2031-8377
This project modification contains the following item:
- CCD #1 in the amount of $69,106.00
- Description: Change of Roofing Contractor, due to the State of Florida Jessica Lunsford Act.
- Cause: School District Requested.
- Justification: The amount of A-1 Duran Roofing proposal of $271,625.00 does not include compliance with the State of Florida Jessica Lunsford Act. A-1 Duran’s bid was submitted in April 2005 which was prior to the enactment of the Jessica Lunsford Act. This should be the last time we have a project modification for this reason because all bid documents now require compliance with the Jessica Lunsford Act The amount of Murton Roofing Corporation’s Jessica Lundsford compliant proposal is $340,731.00. Murton Roofing Corporation will execute the Trade Contract Agreement including the requirements of the Jessica Lunsford Act. All work has been completed.
Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $69,106.00.
The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
