Title: National Multicultural Diversity Day

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board of Palm Beach County proclaims  Monday October 16, 2006, as National Multicultural Diversity Day.

Description: The School District of Palm Beach County includes students that represent over 168 countries in the world including the United States.  Over 150 languages and dialects are among those spoken in homes across the county. The School District believes that people from diverse backgrounds can learn, work, and live together with respect and harmony, overcoming prejudices, fears, and stereotypes about people from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
