Title: CP1-Agreement for CM at Risk Services for C.O. Taylor/Kirklane ES Modernization

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the award of an Agreement for Construction Management at Risk Services and Preconstruction Phase Fees in the amount of $348,310. to W.G. Mills, Inc. for C.O. Taylor/Kirklane Elementary School Modernization, Project No. 1531-8350 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents.

Description:

Construction Management at Risk services required for construction of an approximately 176,800 GSF, 1440 student station replacement K-5 elementary school in accordance with the Educational Specifications approved by the Board on July 19, 2006.

 

Approved Budget for Construction: $31,000,000.00

 

Construction Type: TBD during Pre-Construction Phase

No. of Stories: TBD during Pre-Construction Phase

Gross Square Feet: 176,800

Budgeted Construction Cost/Gross Square Foot: $175.

Total Student Stations: 1440

Budgeted Construction Cost/Student Station: $21,528.

Preconstruction Phase Fee:

 

Fees: $255,460.

Reimbursable Expenses: $92,850.

Total: $348,310.

 

Eight (8) firms responded to the RFP and three (3) firms were shortlisted.  The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows:

 

1. W.G. Mills

2. Moss & Associates, Inc.

3. The Weitz Company I, Inc.

 

Minority Participation: 15%

Financial Impact:

The financial impact is $348,310. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget.
