Title: Recommendation: Description: The Advanced Band members of Don Estridge High Tech Middle School have been invited to perform in the Hawaiian Islands from March 25 to 31, 2007. While the students are in Hawaii, they will experience its rich, diverse culture and history, marine life and the ecosystems of the islands. The school has encouraged teachers to give the students stimulating projects and activities while on the islands. Students will be able to share this information with their classes when they return. The Advanced Band will perform concerts at Pearl Harbor, the USS Missouri Memorial, the Polynesian Cultural Center and the Premier Stage in downtown Honolulu. The trip will also include an excursion to the "Big Island" to see the Volcano National Park and the Black Sand beaches. Students and Chaperones will provide their own expenses. Forty-two students and twelve teachers will be going on the trip. Fundraising will be provided for those students who will need financial assistance.
