Title: Recommendation: Description: This student has been residentially placed by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). The district pays only educational costs. Due to the severity of this student's needs, the IEP team agreed this student could be educated in the facility chosen by DCF. This student continues to require extensive educational and therapeutic services. Prior to entering the residential facility the student had been attending an ESE Program in the Palm Beach County school district. The student's aggressive behaviors have escalated to the point that they are self injurious, injurious to other students, and injurious to school and district staff who have intervened. The student has been appropriately identified as a student with disabilities by the School District of Palm Beach County in compliance with state and local policies and regulations. The district will pay the costs for those days the student is physically present and in attendance at the residential facility. The cost for educational services is $16,800. The total estimated FTE to be earned by this student during the FY07 school year will be $21,344. The cooperative agreement is in compliance with State Board Rule 6A.6-0361, "Special Programs Contractual Agreements with Non-Public Schools."
