Title: Childrens Book Week

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the Proclamation declaring November 13 - 18, 2006 as Children's Book Week.

Description: Children's Book Week is celebrated nationally.  This annual observance promotes reading books, storytelling and literacy, to nurture our youth.  The School District's Department of Instructional Materials and Library Media Services is collaborating with the County Public Library System to encourage all librarians, teachers, parents and children's care providers to read Yikes!!! by Robert Florczak to all preschool, kindergarten and first grade students in promotion of Families Reading Together during Children's Book Week.
