Title: Community Education Day

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the Proclamation declaring Friday, December 8, 2006 as Community Education Day and encourage everyone to consider the ability of community education programs to inspire, motivate, and accomplish a vision that builds better communities for our future that has no limits or boundaries and utilizes public school resources.

Description: Community Education Day has been observed since 1982. Community Education programming serves as an instrument to brighten individual futures, removes barriers to educational access, and supports student achievement by providing programmatic and financial support for students of all ages.  The theme of Community Education Day in 2006 is "Community Education Builds Better Communities."
