Title: RE 6- Approve Exchange Agreement/City of West Palm Beach Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve an Agreement for Exchange with City of West Palm Beach for properties located adjacent to Westward Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School, and the Roosevelt Full Service Center; approve Interlocal Agreement between the City of West Palm Beach and the School Board of Palm Beach County; and authorize the Superintendent and Chairman to sign all necessary documents.
Description:
- The FY 2006-2010 Five Year Plan includes the modernization of Westward Elementary School.
- The City of West Palm Beach shall exchange title of +/- 2.93 acres of City property to the School Board. The School Board shall exchange title of +/- 0.70 acres of School Board property to the City. (See Exhibit A)
- The total appraised value of the City’s property is $630,000 and the total appraised value of the School Board property is $300,000. The difference between the value of the City property and the School Board property of $330,000 will be paid to the City.

- The property acquired by the School District is needed for the expansion of the Westward Elementary School Campus.
- The property acquired by the City of West Palm Beach is needed for the expansion of the Urban League/Site Facility.
- As apart of this exchange acquired by the School District is an Interlocal Agreement between the School Board and the City, which grants the Community use of the playfield and playcourts at Westward Elementary School. (See Attached)
Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Capital Projects Fun Budget is $330,000
