Title: PM1 Project Modifications for Boca Raton Middle

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications in the amount of $109,975.00 for the Boca Raton Community Middle School, Modernization Project #1491-8379, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Boca Raton Community Middle School – Modernization Project #1491-8379

This project modification contains the following item:

• Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $109,975.00
• Description:  The A/E will provide contract documents to upgrade the baseball field to accommodate both the high school and middle school.  The upgrades include a concession/restroom/press-box building, an expanded PE storage building, ball field lighting, batting cages, enhanced dugouts, scoreboard, flag pole, warm-up mounds, and a public address system.  The documents will also include the design for future lighting of the track/soccer area, basketball courts, and upgrading the turf of the soccer field.
• Cause:  School District Requested
• Justification:  The baseball field at the middle school will be the home field for both the middle school and high school.
• Construction costs are estimated to be $1,000,000.

Financial Impact:

The Financial Impact to the Project’s Budget is $109,975.00.

The source of funds is Capital Contingency.
