Title: Black History Month - Robinson

Recommendation:

I would like the Board to discuss rescheduling Black History month student educational activities until after FCAT.  As it stands now, student educational activities during the month of February are focused on FCAT preparation.  If we want to improve our school system, our county, our state and our country, it is critically important that we all learn the contributions of Africans and African Americans as mandated by state law.  I ask that we not minimize this effort due to FCAT demands and instead schedule student educational experiences and activities in this realm for after FCAT.
