Title: CLS1-Florida Department of Health School Health Services Plan for 2006-2008

Recommendation:

I recommend that the School Board approve the Florida Department of Health School Health Services Plan for 2006-2008.

Description:

• The Plan is written by the Palm Beach County Health Department with input from school district staff, parents and community members including the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC).
• The plan establishes local strategies that will be used to implement the services mandated by law.
• Notable items in this plan include:
  • Coordination with the School District’s Wellness, Promotion Plan adopted by May, 2006
  • The opening of an additional full service wellness center at Palm Beach Lakes High School

Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the School District
