Title: Recommendation: Description: The tentative agreement provides for: Ø Establishing a one time supplement of $1,000 payable to fulltime employees assigned to a secondary school (middle School or High School) who has or adds the Reading Endorsement on his/her Florida State Department of Education issued teaching certificate; Ø Increasing the Mandatory In-Service Hourly Rate to $23.50, and the Additional Period hourly Supplement to $23.50; Ø Expanding eligibility for Advanced Degree Pay to include those with major coursework in the areas of Education Technology and Career/Vocational Education; Ø Modifying contract language regarding Personnel Files to comply with Florida Statutes as it pertains to the removal of materials from the Personnel File; Ø Recognizing additional accrediting agencies for verifying teaching experience; Ø Recognizing Reading Endorsement as equivalent to six (6) graduate semester hours for purposes of satisfying the twelve (12) graduate semester hour requirement for Advanced Degree Pay; Ø Granting year-for-year experience credit for teachers hired prior to January 7, 2003; effective January 8, 2007; Ø Establishing contract provisions regarding Charter School Leave and the terms and conditions of employment related to an employee’s return from Charter School Leave; and Ø Affirming the right of non-classroom teachers (Guidance Counselor, Media Specialist, Occupational Specialist, etc.) to daily planning time.
