Title: AC2-Amendment to the Contract between the School Board of Palm Beach County, Florida and Palm Beach

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the amendment to the existing contract between the School District of Palm Beach County and Palm Beach Marine Institute, Inc. for the provision to add that Palm Beach Marine Institute shall reimburse the School Board for one full-time School District ESE teacher providing services to the Palm Beach Marine Institute Program, effective January 25, 2007 through June 30, 2007, and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents and contracts related to this amendment to the contract.

Description:

 
The Contract is amended hereby to provide that the Palm Beach Marine Institute shall reimburse the School Board for one full-time School District ESE teacher providing ESE services to the Palm Beach Marine Institute Program.

The Marine Institute shall provide a minimum of one Exceptional Student Education (ESE) certified teacher to develop, implement and determine mastery of the IEP goals for the exceptional educational students. If the Marine Institute has no eligible ESE certified teacher, the Alternative Education Director will recommend a qualified ESE certified teacher employed by the school district to provide the necessary services for the ESE students.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the General Fund Budget is an increase of approximately $40,072 from Palm Beach Marine Institute. The funds will be allocated to the Palm Beach Marine Institute School Budget.
