Title: PM1 Project Modifications for Suncoast High

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $142,991.00 for Suncoast High School, Modernization Project #0151-7511, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Suncoast High School – Modernization Project #0151-7511

 

This project modification contains the following item:

 

  • Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $142,991.00.
  • Description:  The new Suncoast HS will be located adjacent to John F. Kennedy MS, which has recently been modernized.  This modification includes necessary alterations to the design and construction plan for John F. Kennedy Middle School.  These include revisions to the site drainage, outdoor recreation as well as the demolition of Building 11 at John F. Kennendy MS. 
  • Cause:  School District Requested.
  • Justification: These changes are required to support the future phases of construction of Suncoast High School.  The design for the modernization of John F. Kennedy MS did not originally consider the placement of Suncoast HS at this site.  These changes are now necessary because the Board has accepted a plan which will place the new Riviera Beach Area HS (02-MMM) on the campus of the existing Suncoast HS and rebuilding Suncoast HS adjacent to John F. Kennedy MS.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $142,991.00.

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
