Title: PM4 Project Modifications for Village Academy

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $344,150.00 for Village Academy School, Additions & Remodeling Project #2811-8271, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

Village Academy School – Additions & Remodeling Project #2811-8271

 

This project modification contains the following item:

 

  • CCD #1 in the amount of $344,150.00 for costs to go to the second lowest bidder for the tilt-up concrete panels as the lowest bidder refused to participate in the Master Controlled Insurance Program (MCIP).
  • Description: MCIP was not part of the original RFP.  The lowest bidder, Woodland Construction would not participate in the program.  The second lowest qualified bidder, Builders Plus was $ 329,150.00 dollars more plus a per diem charge of $ 15,000.00 to bring the project back on schedule.
  • Cause: School District Requested.
  • Justification: In order for the District to participate in the MCIP program, the change in contractors was necessary.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $344,150.00.

 

The source of funds is Capital Contingency.
