Title: Marathon of the Palm Beaches

Description:

The "Marathon Mile" is an exciting and challenging school-based activity which is part of the Marathon of the Palm Beaches.  Students ran the first 25 miles of the marathon in a running club supervised by their physical education teacher.  The students had from August to December to complete this leg of the race.  Students ran the final one mile leg at the actual site of the Marathon of the Palm Beaches.  1200 students from 45 schools took part in the December "Marathon Mile."

In the actual Marathon of the Palm Beaches, Palm Beach Gardens High School English teacher Eileen Turenne finished second.  She finished the race in 3 hours, 16 minutes and 29 seconds.
