Title: Special Meeting Re: Diaz Settlement

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Settlement Agreement and General Release between the School District of Palm Beach County; Isabel Diaz; and National Conference of Firemen & Oilers, SEIU, Local 1227 , a copy of which is attached hereto, and authorize the execution of all related documents.

Description:

• On June 28, 2006, the School District approved an unpaid suspension and termination of employment.
• NCF&O timely filed a class action grievance of which Ms. Diaz was a par in appeal of the School Board action.    
• The claims have been settled and the parties acknowledge this is the entire agreement and there are no other representations other than what is contained in the Settlement Agreement. 
• Settlement is in the amount of $7,442.92.
• This Settlement is in the best interest of the District.
• The attached Settlement Agreement is subject to School Board approval.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact is $7,442.92.
