P1 Approve agreement with Follett Software Company
· The Destiny Textbook Management solution will automate the check-out and retrieval of textbooks in district schools using barcodes and barcode scanner-equipped computers on the school’s network.
· The browser-based textbook management system will significantly reduce textbook losses and increase management accountability for textbook assets. Electronic inventory control will encourage transfer of excess materials among schools and reduce the amount of time school-based staff spends on accounting for textbook inventory.
· The agreement with Follett for the Destiny Textbook Management solution provides a centralized inventory management solution that includes the purchase of application software, data processing and conversion services, system installation, project management support, and training for district technology staff, instructional materials department staff, and school based staff.
· This project includes funds for centralized computer server hardware equipment and barcode scanners for school based staff to use to quickly process textbooks in and out of inventory.
· On-going technical support includes toll free telephone technical support, 24/7 access to online knowledge base, unlimited email support, and access to recorded web-based training.
· Funds for this project come from the capital budget as approved by the School Board in September 2006.
· The term of this agreement for training and installation is within 90 days from the date of execution of this agreement. Additional annual site license fees and annual maintenance for support per site, along with product updates to textbook titles maintenance and district technical support is for a period of five years from the execution of this agreement.
