Title: Recommendation: I recommend the School Board approve an Agreement for Architectural Design Services with Brown & Brown Architects in the amount of $382,288 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for the School Food Service Build-Out Project No. 9150-8362. Description: Architectural Design Services required for the development of permitted design documents to remodel an existing two story building of approximately 37,500 gross square feet into administrative office space which includes a 19,500 gross square foot first floor (18,000 gross square feet existing and 1,500 gross square feet of existing space from the adjacent Food Services Warehouse) and an 18,000 gross square foot second floor which is currently built-out office and instructional spaces requiring remodeling. Design shall include replacement and tie-in of the existing elevator and required improvements to existing MEP and life safety systems with exterior building and site improvements. Estimated Budget for Planning and Design: $382,288 Estimated Budget for Construction: $3,939,202 (Five Year Capital Plan) $2,025,673 (available funds for construction) $1,913,529 pf the estimated budget for construction from the Five Year Capital Plan was used for build-out of the second floor to accommodate the Fee for Basic Services: $332,538 (inclusive of MEP, Civil and Landscape Engineering) Funds Available For: Additional Services: $33,250 Reimbursable Expenses: $16,500 Total Contract Award: $382,288 Nine (9) firms responded to the RFP of which three (3) were shortlisted. The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows: (1) Brown & Brown Architects (Hispanic) (2) Robling Architecture Construction, Inc. (3) Saltz Michelson Architects, Inc. Minority Participation: 20% Financial Impact: The financial impact is $ 392,050. The source of funds is the project budget.
