Title: CP-6 Construction Management at Risk Agreement for Wellington ES Addition

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve an Agreement for Construction Management at Risk Services and Preconstruction Phase Services Fee in the amount of $143,771 to Suffolk Construction Company, Inc., and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for Pre-Construction fees for Wellington Elementary School Addition, Project No. 1671-8307.

Description:

Construction Management @ Risk services required for Preconstruction Phase Services including design review and recommendation to establish the Guaranteed Maximum Price for construction of 76,185 GSF including instructional and support spaces, administration/student services, media center and a food services/dining area with stage. Total student stations will be increased from 502 to 1032.  The existing administration building, kitchen/cafetorium and three classroom buildings will be demolished to accommodate the new construction. Students will remain on campus during construction. Construction will be in accordance with the Educational Specifications approved by the Board on September 20, 2006.

 

Estimated Budget for Construction:  $13,500,000

Four (4) firms responded to the RFP of which three (3) were shortlisted.  The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows: 

 

(1) Suffolk Construction Company, Inc.

(2) C.R. Klewin SE., Inc.  

(3) The Morganti Group

 

Minority Participation: 15%

The financial impact is $143,771. The source of funds is the project budget.
