Title: Recommendation: I recommend the School Board approve an Amendment to the Construction Management at Risk Agreement to establish the Phase I Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Site Construction in the amount of $833,579.00 to W.G. Mills, Inc. for Description: Construction Management at Risk Services for Phase I Site Construction required for modernization of the existing Pre K-5 facility and to accommodate an additional 942 student stations bringing the total student stations to 1086 and the Educational Specifications approved by the Board on January 19, 2005. Estimated Budget for Construction: $22,987,580 No. of Stories: 2 Construction Type: Tilt-Wall Gross Square Feet: New: 126,490 Budgeted Construction Cost Per Building Cost Per Student Stations:1086 Budgeted Construction Cost Per Student Station: $14,128. Building Cost Per Student Station: N/A Preconstruction Fee: $153,435.00 Phase 1 GMP: $833,579.00 Total Cost of Construction: $987,014.00 Building Cost: N/A Minority Participation: 0% Phase 1 construction requires one sub-contact to perform the Scope of Work of site de-mucking. An invitation to bid was extended to three firms, one of which is a certified M/WBE that did not respond to the invitation. As a result, the award was made to a non-M/WBE firm and the resulting participation is 0% for this phase of construction, however, the established project goal is 15% M/WBE participation for the total of all phases of construction. Financial Impact: The financial impact is $839,749 The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget.
