Title: AC2-Agreement with Discover Palm Beach County, Inc.

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Agreement with Discover Palm Beach County, Inc., and ARAMARK and sign all the necessary documents.

Description:

• Discover Palm Beach County, Inc. is the managing corporation for the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
• On April 19 & 20, 2007, the School District will sponsor the 6th Annual Conference on Single School Culture at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
• This conference will feature nationally known speakers, including Erin Gruwel, the focus of the book and recently released movie, "The Freedom Writers Diary."
• The registration fees collected, as well as the DINI (District in Need of Improvement) Funds, will cover the cost of this conference.  DINI Funds are set aside funds that can be used for this purpose.
• This is a national conference with participants in attendance from all over the country.
• The anticipated attendance is 1,000.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to DINI funding is a decrease of $130,000.  There is no financial impact to the Operating Budget.
