Title: AC6- Amendment to the Cooperative Agreement with C.L.A.S.S. of Palm Beach County, Inc.

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Amendment to the Cooperative Agreement with the C.L.A.S.S. of Palm Beach County, Inc., in the amount of $39,245 for implementation of the tutorial program effective February 27, 2007 through May 31, 2007.

Description:

This amends the Cooperative Agreement with C.L.A.S.S. of Palm Beach County, Inc. for tutorial services offered at the Delray Full Service Center.  This amendment is for an increase in District funding in the amount of $ 39,245.

The focus of the C.L.A.S.S. Program is to improve academic skills and raise FCAT scores through tutoring activities. 

The 8 teachers who are employed by C.L.A.S.S. provide services Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

The School District will provide $39,245 to C.L.A.S.S. to support implementation of the program.  Funding will be used for the salaries of the program teachers.

Success of the C.L.A.S.S. program will be evaluated based on student performance on district-wide and state-wide assessments.

Copies of the Agreement and the Amendment are attached.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the General Fund Budget is $39,245.  The source of funds is the Quality Assurance budget.
