Title: T1 Consider Transfer of Surplus Bus to Charter School

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board authorize the Superintendent to transfer a 65 or 77 passenger school bus to Boca Raton Charter School.

Description:

• Florida Statute 274.05 allows disposal of surplus property in a manner consistent with the best interests of the District.
• Pursuant to Florida's Charter Schools law, all surplus property shall be provided for use by a charter school on the same basis as it is made available to other public schools in the District.
• Boca Raton Charter School will be transporting Palm Beach County District students to and from school.
• Prior to the execution of the transfer, Boca Raton Charter School will be required to sign a vehicle transfer agreement.
• Appropriate liens will be filed with the State of Florida.
• Property Records of the transferred vehicle will be retired to the inactive file.

Financial Impact:

Donation of a vehicle that would sell for approximately $5,000. to $6,000.
