Title: PM3 Suncoast High Project Modifications

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications in the amount of $72,820.00 for Suncoast High School, Modernization Project #0151-7511, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

This project modification contains the following item:

 

  • Architectural Additional Services in the amount of $72,820.00
  • Description: Contracting for a geotechnical investigation and engineering evaluation report of the subsurface soil conditions for the reference project site.
  • Cause: School District Requested.
  • Justification:  To expedite the geotechnical survey, it was added to the A/E contract. The geotechnical consultant is usually contracted directly with the School District and is not an additional cost to the project. Currently the contracts for geotechnical services are selected from a piggy-back contract through South Florida Water Management. The consultants that were available through this contract were unable to start the work within the timeline needed. The rates are consistent with the rates the School District normally pays for these services.

Financial Impact:

The Financial Impact to the Project’s Budget is $72,820.00.

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
