Title: 2007 - 2008 Restructuring Plan

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Title I School Improvement Grant amount of $2,959,232 effective March 29, 2007 through June 30, 2008, and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents and contracts related to the grant which are required for implementation of grant activities.

Description: Under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001, Section 1116(b)(8), school restructuring is a state and school district responsibility.  The Title I School Improvement Grant totaling $2,959,232 will fund this initiative.  The grant expires in June 2008.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the district is $2,959,232.  These funds will be allocated to the NCLB/Federal Programs budget under the division of Performance Accountability.  All grant related expenditures and contracts are authorized for payment up to the amount of revenue.
