Title: PM1 Emerald Cove MS Project Modifications

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $331,329.72 for Emerald Cove Middle School (02-JJ), New School Project #3371-8290, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

This project modification contains the following items: 

Item #1

  • CCD #3 in the amount of $33,185.50
  • Description:  Add sound wall panels at the gymnasium Building #5.
  • Cause:  School District Requested.
  • Justification:  This project was a prototype re-use facility and the panels were not part of the original design scope.

Item #2

  • CCD #4 in the amount of $15,596.00
  • Description:  Add galvanneal on all lockers and add 16 gauge slope tops
  • Cause:  School District Requested.
  • Justification:  This project was a prototype re-use facility and the described work was not part of the original design scope. 

Item #3

CCD #5 in the NTE amount of $282,548.22

 

  • Item #1 in the amount of $146,927.26
  • Description:  Provide irrigation and sod to Village of Wellington Olympic Park site.
  • Cause:  Outside Agency
  • Justification:  Village of Wellington required St. Augustine sod and irrigation system within retention areas that were not part of original scope.

  • Item #2 in the amount of $39,454.46
  • Description:  Provide technology wiring and mounts.
  • Cause:  School District Requested
  • Justification:  Required to comply with revisions to School District technology criteria.

  • Item #3 in the amount of $40,320.00
  • Description:  Revise the Florida Power & Light primary feed, utility transformer location and secondary feeds from the utility transformer to MDP in Building #6.
  • Cause:  Outside Agency
  • Justification:  Required by Florida Power & Light for electrical service to the school.

  • Item #4 in the amount of $26,061.00
  • Description:  Off-site civil revisions, water main relocation, storm drainage, off-site paving and striping.
  • Cause:  Outside Agency
  • Justification:  Changes were made to satisfy the Village of Wellington plan review comments.

  • Item #5 in the amount of $29,785.50
  • Description:  Interconnection of retention ponds.
  • Cause:  Outside Agency.
  • Justification:  Required by the Village of Wellington to tie off site retention ponds into school site retention area that led to Lake Worth Drainage Canal System.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $331,329.72

 

The source of funds is Capital Contingency.
