Title: IN6 VISION INSURANCE CONTRACT

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the contract for vision benefits with Eye Med Vision beginning January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008.

Description:

•           This benefit will continue to be offered all employees, as a voluntary benefit, payable through payroll deductions.

•           Eye Med has been our carrier for the past five years and employees are very satisfied.  Monthly premiums are reduced for 2008:

                  Employee only                  $  5.62          $5.41

                  Employee & family           $15.90        $13.87

•           Premiums have been reduced by 3% for employees and 12% for families from what they have been for the last two years.

•           Edify LLC, the District’s benefits consultant, obtained proposals from various companies. They recommend the benefits and premiums with Eye Med as the preferred plan.

Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the District.
