Title: CS4-Termination of The IMAGINE School

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board accept the voluntary termination of The IMAGINE School, effective July 18, 2007.

Description:

The IMAGINE School's Charter Agreement with the District ends June 30, 2007.  The Governing Board has requested the termination of its "Charter."  Attached is the Notice of Termination and Exhibit A, the Charter School's Notification Letter.

The school was declared by the CPA to be in a financial emergency for their audit for fiscal year 2006.  The school presented a Financial Recovery Plan (FRP) (Exhibit B) to the  District on March 12, 2007.  Upon receipt of the FRP, the District Audit Department initiated an internal audit of the school due to the severe financial issues at the school.  A final report will be forthcoming from the Audit Committee.

A copy of The IMAGINE School's Contract is on file in the Board office for your review.

Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the District.
