Title: CS5-Ten Year Renewal Charter JFK Medical Center Charter School Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the ten (10) year Renewal Charter for JFK.
Description: Pursuant to Florida Statute 1002.33(6)(g), the terms and conditions for the operation of the charter school shall be set forth by the district and the applicant in a written contractual agreement called a charter.
The Charter School Renewal Committee determined JFK Medical Center Charter School ("JFK") is in compliance with the current Charter.
The new Charter for JFK was agreed upon by all parties. The Charter has been submitted and reviewed by the appropriate District staff.
The Charter will become effective upon signing by both parties, and shall cover a term of ten (10) years commencing July 1, 2007 and ending June 30, 2017, except as provided in the Charter.
Due to the large number of pages, a copy of the Charter is on file in the Board Office for review.
JFK is a school-to-work charter school that serves grades K-5.
Financial Impact:
Projected FTE for FY 2007-08 is approximately $3,224,008 net of the five (5%) percent administrative fee with a projected enrollment of 514 students.
