Title: Equity Report - Robinson Recommendation:
I would like the Board to discuss scheduling a workshop (after the disaggregated FCAT data is available) to discuss today’s Equity Report. I suggest we review and reflect upon our strategies to accelerate the academic achievement of all children, including but not limited to: ESE Level 1 and 2 readers at all grade levels; those that have not successfully completed Algebra I in 8th grade; ESOL; children in poverty; and children that are in the gifted program.
I would like us to hear from “turn around” principals including: Jackie Perkins (elementary), Sheila Henry (middle and high) and E. Wayne Gent (high). I believe they can help us focus on what needs to be done to move all children forward.
