Title: Recommendation: I recommend award of the Consultant Contract with McGladrey & Pullen, LLP in an amount not to exceed $250,000 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all needed documents. Description: Consultant will provide assistance in reconciliation of all significant general ledger accounts and preparation of related schedules necessary to complete the 2007 fiscal year end close within the new ERP system. The year end close process is critical to meeting external reporting requirements. This staff augmentation for the Accounting Department is needed to compensate for four vacant positions and meet the additional demands of performing the year-end close in the new ERP system. McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, a national CPA firm, will provide the District with two senior accountants and one accounting manager. The District will continue to recruit candidates for the four full-time accounting positions. Successful hires should lessen the need for this outside consultant support. The recommended award of $250,000 is a not to exceed threshold and every effort will be made to limit utilization and the actual expenditure. Financial Impact: The financial impact is the Accounting Department FY2008 operating budget and will not exceed $250,000. For Additional Information, contact: Joseph M.
