Title: : 2007-2008 Student Progress Plans Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board the School District’s 2007-2008 Student Progression Plans in compliance with Florida Statutes 1008.25
Description:
Changes Include:
- Additional of the new State requirement for physical education for students entering the 9th grade in 2007-08 through the Health Opportunities through Physical Education course (HOPE)
- Addition of the new State requirement of four credits in mathematics for graduation for a student in a four-year 24 credit traditional program
- Addition of options for students who earn a standard certificate of completion
- Addition of new language for exemptions for second semester examination by subject area
- Addition of the new State requirement of 150 minutes of physical education each week for students in kindergarten through grade 5
- Addition of the new State forgiveness policies for middle school students who take high school courses for high school credit
- Updating of graduation options to include Department of Education names and requirements
- Change of name of 504 students to students with an active 504 plan
- Change of name of Exceptional Student Education Students to Exceptional Student Education Students with Disabilities
