Title: Legislative Proposals

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the preliminary Legislative Proposals for the 2008 Regular Session.

Description:

The preliminary 2008 Legislative Proposals reflect input from staff, a review of action taken during the 2007 Legislative Sessions, and a review of issues among school districts with programs and needs similar to Palm Beach County.  Upon adoption by the Board these recommendations will be submitted to the Treasure Coast Workgroup, Greater Florida Consortium of School Boards, Florida Association of School District Superintendents, and the Florida School Boards Association for inclusion in their Legislative Programs for next year.  The Board may modify or add to these proposals at any time up to and through the Regular Session which begins on March 4, 2008.
