Title: Recommendation: I recommend the School Board approve an Amendment to the Agreement and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents to establish the Phase 3 Final Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), for Construction in the amount of $11,090,026. to The Weitz Company, Inc. for Construction Management at Risk Services for Description: This project will consist of Construction Management at Risk Services required for the construction of a new K-5 facility consisting of approximately 150,226 GSF, 1048 student stations with a student capacity of 964. Students will be relocated during the construction phase. Approved Construction Budget: $20,952,592. Number of Stories: Building A-Classroom, two story, Building B-Administrative and Media, two story, Building D-Classroom, one story, Building E-Cafeteria and Art, one story Construction Type: Tilt Wall Gross Square Feet: 150,226 (New) Construction Cost Per Gross Square Foot: $151. Total Additional Student Stations: 1048 Construction Cost Per Student Station: $21,623. Preconstruction Fee: $106,630. Phase I GMP: $2,423,830. Phase 2 GMP: $9,040,546. Phase 3 GMP: $11,090,026. Total Construction Cost: $22,661,032. Minority Participation: 18.4% (Total Project) Financial Impact: The financial impact is $11,172,092. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget. The financial impact is an increase to the project budget of $1,708,440. This increase will be funded by the following decreases to other construction projects ($500,000 from the Bak Auditorium Project; $100,000. from the Congress Middle Modernization Project; $302,172. from the J F Kennedy Modernization Project; $806,268. from the J I Leonard Modernization Project). “The District will provide Builder's Risk insurance for this phase of the project at a total cost of $82,066.
