						 Title: PM14 Carver Middle Project Modifications Recommendation: 
I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $43,580.00 for Carver Middle School, Classroom Addition Project #2041,8307, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.  
Description: This project modification contains the following item: 
  
Item #1 
§        Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $34,580.00 
§        Description:  Relocate existing bus drive to include a new bus drive layout with associated walkways, walkway cover, storm drainage, landscape, and irrigation, as well as a separate permitting package. 
§        Cause:  School District Requested-Required to accommodate new classroom building. 
§        Justification:  During early stage of design, it was determined existing bus drive provided the most feasible location for the new classroom building by providing a close proximity to the main school building for students, and maintaining the security integrity of the campus. 
  
Item #2 
§        Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $9,000.00 
§        Description:  Civil engineering services involving permitting and coordination efforts with Outside Agency to provide off-site fire and potable water connections to existing utility, as well as modification and approval of the existing environmental resource permit. 
§        Cause:  Design Omission – Discovered during the permitting process. 
§        Justification:  Existing off-site utility is owned by Outside Agency.   
Financial Impact: 
The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $43,580.00. 
  
The source of funds is Restricted Reserves.
