Title: AC3-Memorandum of Agreement with Palm Beach County Health Department

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Memorandum of Agreement Between the Palm Beach County Health Department and School Board of Palm Beach County effective January 19, 2006 through June 30, 2007 and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents and contracts related to this partnership agreement.

Description:

The purpose of the memorandum of  agreement between The Palm Beach County Health Department and The School Board of Palm Beach County is the provision of a medical provider from the Palm Beach County Health Department. The agreement satisfies the goals and objectives of the five-year non-competing Cooperative Agreement, Improving the Health, Education, and Well-being of Young People Through Coordinated School Health Programs.

The Cooperative Agreement, approved by the School Board on November 19, 2002, and awarded to the District in February 2003, provides the agreement for a medical provider:

*  to check that all proposed written materials on HIV/AIDS (written and/or educational materials, videos
and surveys) from the school district contain medically accurate information and/or data 
               
*  to keep the staff of the Cooperative Agreement at the school district updated on any current HIV/AIDS information in new Health Department reports.

Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the budget.
