Title: Education Foundation Obtains $187,500 Student Tutoring Grant

Description: The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, under the leadership of Executive Director Mary Kay Murray, has obtained a $187,500 grant for student tutoring.  The Education Foundation attained the funding through the Wachovia Bank-William Culbert Jr. Trust and School Matching Funds grant.  This grant will provide funding for each high school to tutor students who have taken the FCAT one or more times and not received a passing score of 300 on the reading and/or mathematics sections.  At this time there are appromixately 3,000 juniors and seniors that have not yet passed the FCAT which is a requirement for a high school diploma.
