Title: P3 Additional Expenditure for Indoor Air Quality Services

Recommendation:

I recommend that the School Board approve additional estimated expenditures on ITN 05C-005N, Indoor Air Quality Services, in the not-to-exceed amount of $2,500,000.

Description:

P3  Approve request for additional estimated expenditure for ITN 05C-005N, Indoor Air Quality Services 

 

·      Vendor Name:  Allied Indoor Environmental, Gaudet Associates, Morse Zehnter Associates, QORE Property Sciences, REP Associates, URS Corporation, Decon Environmental, DPC General Contractors, Duraclean Restoration, Evans Environmental, Project Development Group, Sal’s Abatement and Doss & Son

 

·      Original Estimated Expenditure:  $2,500,000

 

·      Type of Contract:  Fixed Unit Price.  No total expenditure is guaranteed.

 

·      Presented to Board:  April 20, 2005                                           Agenda Item:  P3

 

·      Contract Period:  April 21, 2005 through April 20, 2010

 

·      Purchase Orders Issued:  $2,197,591 

        Requisitions Pending:  $ - 0 -

                 

·      The revised estimated expenditure is requested to be increased by $2,500,000 for a total of $5,000,000.  The current budget has sufficient funds to cover estimated costs in the fiscal year.  No additional budget funds are required.

 

·      Contract Overview:  This contract includes three categories of awarded vendors for Indoor Air Quality.

         1.      Complete Turn-Key Operations

         2.      Corrective actions to include:  HVAC services, mold mitigation, drywall repairs and painting

         3.      General cleaning services           

 

·      Reason for Increase:  Hurricanes Francis, Jeanne and Wilma had a substantial impact on the District and this contract.  The environmental issues as a result of these storms have been extensive and numerous.  On-going restoration efforts will continue to be needed even without being hit with another storm.  The District will apply for FEMA reimbursements where appropriate.

Financial Impact:
The additional financial impact to the District Budget is estimated at $2,500,000   The source of funds is the Environmental Control Office budget.
