Recommendation:

I recommend that the School Board approve additional estimated expenditures on RFP 03C-015B, Speech and Language Therapy Services, in the not-to-exceed amount of $744,000.

P4 Approve request for additional estimated expenditure for RFP 03C-015B, Speech and Language Therapy Services 

·      Vendor Name:  Boca Speech Center, Interim Healthcare of the Treasure Coast and Rehabworks

·      Original Estimated Expenditure:  $600,000

         Previous Increase Requested:    $990,000

·      Type of Contract:  Fixed Unit Price (hourly rate).  No total expenditure is guaranteed.

·      Contract Period:  July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2006

·       Purchase Orders Issued:  $1,590,000

         Requisitions Pending:  $ - 0 -

·      The revised estimated expenditure is requested to be increased by $744,000 for a total of $2,334,000.  The current budget has sufficient funds to cover estimated costs in the fiscal year.  No additional budget funds are required.

·      Reason for Increase:  The District has been providing these services to meet the needs for PK and K-12.  Additionally, we are now required to provide these services to eligible students in parentally placed private schools as per IDEA 2004.

Financial Impact:
The additional financial impact to the District Budget is estimated at $744,000.   The source of funds is the Exceptional Student Education Department budget.
