Title: CP1 A/E Agmnt for PB Lakes HS Classroom/Academy Bldg.

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the award of an Architectural Consultant Agreement with Brown & Brown Architect, Inc. in the amount of $738,700. and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for Palm Beach Lakes High School Classroom and Academy Addition, Project No. 1851-8307.

Description:

Architectural Design Services required for development of completed design documents in accordance with the educational specifications approved by the Board on October 20, 2004.

Approved Budget for Planning and Design:                    

$949,666.

Approved Budget for Construction:                          $10,637,938.

Fee for Basic Service: $638,000. (6% of Approved Budget for Construction)

Funds Available For:
Additional Services: $63,800.

Reimbursables: $36,900.
Total Contract Award: $738,700.

Three (3) firms responded to the RFP and two (2) were shortlisted, one firm withdrew from Presentations.  The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows: 

(1) Brown & Brown Architect, Inc. (Hispanic)

(2) Acai Associates, Inc. (Hispanic)

Financial Impact:

The financial impact is $762,550. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget. The District will provide the Professional Responsibility Insurance at a cost of $23,850.
