Title: CP3 A/E Agmnt for Pahokee MS 03-MM

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the award of an Architectural Consultant Agreement with BRPH Architects-Engineers, Inc. in the amount of $1,733,050. and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents for Pahokee Middle School 03-MM, Project No: 1771-8382.

Description:

Architectural Design Services required for development of completed design documents to construct Pre-K classrooms to the existing elementary school, construction of a new 735 student station middle school and renovation of the existing high school to accommodate the addition of ancillary programs. 

Approved Budget for Planning and Design:                   

$1,750,000.

Approved Budget for Construction:                            $26,075,388.

Fee for Basic Service: $1,507,000. (5.8% of Approved Budget for Construction)

Funds Available For:
Additional Services: $150,700.

Reimbursables.: $75,350.
Total Contract Award: $1,733,050.

Ten (10) firms responded to the RFP and three (3) were shortlisted.  The final ranking of the Selection Committee is as follows:

(1) BRPH Architects-Engineers, Inc.

(2) Harvard Jolly, Inc.

(3) Acai Associates, Inc. (Hispanic)

Minority Participation: 21%

 

Financial Impact:

The financial impact is $1,789,310. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Projects Budget. The District will provide the Professional Responsibility Insurance at a cost of $56,260.
