Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Reduction of Retainage for Phase I from 5% to 0% and for Phase II from 10% to 5% for Roosevelt Elementary School, Modernization Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Item #1

• Description:  On Roosevelt Elementary School, the Contractor, James A. Cummings, Inc., achieved Phase I Substantial Completion on August 9, 2004, and requested a Reduction of Retainage from 5% to 0%:  The Architect and District staff recommends this reduction. 

Item #2:

• Description:  On Roosevelt Elementary School, the Contractor, James A. Cummings, Inc., achieved Phase II Substantial Completion on September 15, 2005, and requested a Reduction of Retainage from 10% to 5%.  The Architect and District staff recommends this reduction.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $0.00.
